Rihanna wearing a see-through top and tight pink miniskirt while partying in NYC on Wednesday.

Obviously, the 'Good Girl Gone Bad' singer gave onlookers a treat with everything on display, but when she realizes her top is see through, gets embarrassed and covers up. If we have learned anything it is that tight black fabric will becomes transparent when exposed to bright light - next time wear a bra Rihanna.

In her latest news : Rihanna is scheduled to perform at the 4th Annual Fashion Rocks benefit at New York’s Radio City Music Hall (September 5). She also finds herself nominated for Best Female Video as part of the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, airing live from Paramount Studios in Hollywood on September 7.

Chris Brown Wants Rihanna To Dress Less Sexy

Rumour has it that Chris Brown wants Rihanna to tone down her sexy look, to avoid her getting unwanted attention from male admirers.

Rihanna is regularly snapped wearing skirts high enough to see her landing carriage whereas Chris likes to go for a more layered look when getting dressed in the morning.

Although the two haven't confirmed that they are actually dating a source has been quoted by the China Daily as saying “Chris adores her, but he gets a little jealous when she is strutting her stuff. Her stage costumes are racy, and when she is not performing, she likes to dress to impress.”

Apparently Rihanna is determined to continue showing off her curves, “She is sexy and likes to dress sexy,” the source adds.

Maybe Chris should just get used to it, after all it keeps Rihanna at the top of the charts.

Why Rihanna won't pose nude

SEXY songbird Rihanna has vowed never to pose for a naked photoshoot - because her mother would "kill" her.

Although the singer has proved she isn’t shy about shedding her clothes in the name of work - she appeared wearing just gold body paint for her 2007 Umbrella video - she refuses to strip off for a magazine.

She tells MTV.co.uk, “My mother would kill me if I posed nude! When I did that metallic body paint stuff for my Umbrella video, I didn’t do it to show my body.

" I didn’t do it for people to like me. I did it because it was a cool visual, unexpected, and it looked hot. I have done a lot of photoshoots for magazines but it’s always great to be shot for a cover because you know that you are looked at as a fashion icon.”

Author: ebet sanders

Which young Broadway leading lady has for several years fallen in love with every guy who plays opposite her, even though or maybe because it's always a gay? i already met the 4 year old girl that has cancer and will be getting it in September when i cut it, and have it made into a wig. You ll never need to worry about money." "Oh, sweetheart, please don t talk that way," his young wife exclaimed. Okay even more specifically- the lack of African American models. Here s how it would work: There would be a fashion show. i have alot of volume to my hair so, if i tease it, it looks kinda 1980 s ish. I m organizing a segment for a fashion show and the category is rain, a remix of Rihanna s Umbrella will be played, and it s a very modern and hyped up show so I m looking for REALLY cool umbrellas for the models to be carrying on the runway. my mom sent this picture to a modeling agency for a contest but do you think its a good pic? The problem was, she needed a new computer immediately, a. i have straight accross bangs, that end just below my eyebrows. i think i will work on dropping 10 or 15 pounds. "Can I model?" "What matches my string cheese pattern skirt"? A fashion related section had never seemed so pointless and juvenile.

im doing a fashion project for my English Class and i need pics of celebrities, runway models, and such wearing GREEN clothing. I m 5 4 126 lbs, I have brown straight hair. Then I would say go and they d have to do a sort of scavenger hunt to find all of theire materials i.e sewing kits, ect. A local fashion show is coming up and I m being one of the runway models, I m mostly likely going to have to wear a sleevless dress, when I auditioned I was wearing a long sleeve shirt, so they couldn t see it. Rihanna's Slimdown Diet and Fitness Plan

By Melissa Larone

We all noticed that Rihanna recently slimmed down and it appears to have been a dramatic weight loss. The sexy star admits she has been dieting and exercising. When asked why she decided to lose weight Rihanna replies "It wasn't so much losing weight as being fit and toned and healthy. I just didn't feel great"

Rihanna certainly already had a good body to begin with, but her new body is even better! She is looking toned and healthy and even a little more mature! Her dance routines and music video rehearsals have definitely played a major role in her hot new bod. She looks amazing in 'Umbrella'.

She's certainly not anorexic or bulimic like many of the other celebrities that feel the Hollywood pressure to be thin. Rihanna so far shows no signs of suffering from a deadly eating disorder.

No diet pills such as the popular Hoodia Gordonii have been linked to the star so we assume she's doing it the natural and healthy way. Whilst her weight loss has not been overly dramatic, it is definitely noticeable. She has been receiving positive media attention about it and I think she looks fantastic!

What Does Rihanna Eat?

According to people magazine Rihanna is watching her diet, eating lots of carrots, lettuce, cucumbers and egg whites and snacking on fruit all day, and drinking plenty of water. "I like carbs," she said, "but at the end of the day, carbs are the enemy."

How Does Rihanna Workout?

She does lots of cardio and weight training two or three times a week with her trainer. "We work on the arms. I don't want manly, muscular arms. We work out my butt because I love my butt. [But] my legs are my main focus. I'm obsessed."

For Rihanna, We'll Ride Until the Day We Die

By Sienna George

How does Rihanna ride?

She rides until the day she dies. We Ride is a track in Rihanna's second studio album, A Girl Like Me. Released in the middle of 2006 in the U.S, the song had a slow start. It did not even make it to the Billboard Hot 100. Elsewhere, however, it made waves. It easily made its way to the top 10 of New Zealand's Singles Chart and to the top 20 of the UK Singles Chart.

We Ride tells the story of a woman's pain. Her man promises to be with her forever, but does things that are bound to tear them apart. "I saw her pictures and the letters she sent. You had me thinking you were out with your friends. I'm so foolish," Rihanna sings brokenly. Despite his infidelity, she clings to the wonderful memories they had before his unfaithfulness drove them apart. She sings:

Visions in my mind
Of the day that we met
You showed me things
That I'll never forget
Took me swimming
In the ocean
You had my head up in the clouds.

Rihanna's We Ride may have done poorly in the charts - it's her lowest charting single worldwide - but it nevertheless remains an important music video for Rihanna, a project that is close to her heart. Why? Because her friends appear in the video with her.

Shot in Miami and Florida Keys, Rihanna's We Ride featured the singing sensation "chilling with the girls." This is perhaps why the video is simpler and much more stark compared to her bona fide hits. Right from the start, Rihanna had wanted to keep the video simple. Says the artist, "Unfaithful concepts were so out there so we pulled it back a little bit. I'm chilling with my girls some."

So, how does Rihanna ride?

She rides with heart. She rides until the day she dies.

From Wagasa To Patio Umbrellas - Rihanna

By Kenny G Leichester

The umbrella has been an object of fascination since a long time ago. There is the song entitled "Umbrella" sung by Rihanna which became one of the largest hit in 2007. Umbrella is also used in fictional movie scripts as the Umbrella Corporation, a bioengineering pharmaceutical company which is responsible for developing a virus which turns the city and evidently the whole world into a zombie infested zone in the action thriller Resident Evil.

If you're living in the United Kingdom, you would definitely hear of a clothing retail line called Next. It is one of the largest retailers in England and it is only behind Marks and Spencer and Bhs and Arcadia Group. However, did you know that Next was originally a company called Kendall & Sons Ltd, a company which sells ladies wear, rainwear and of course, umbrellas. It was founded in 1870 and the company was quite reputable to the extent it supplied umbrella to the members of the Royal Family with certain specifications.

In Japan, the umbrella is part of their tradition. The japanese umbrella, commonly known as the Gifu Wagasa is made from paper and bamboo. Donned by women to show status, the Wagasa is made only by the skillful craftsmen and takes several months to complete. The paper is fixed onto the bamboo frame and then oil and lacquer is applied onto it so that it becomes waterproof; not that the Wagasa to be used in the rain or shine. A Geisha will be respected if seen holding the wagasa. Gone are the days where Japanase women are seen on the streets with this beautiful traditional umbrella. Today, the Japanese market is filled with the western type of umbrella. The usage of Wagasa is restricted to traditional ceremony such as weddings and tea ceremony.

You can be thankful that you now see market umbrellas that are not like the ones sold 20 years ago. Unlike the market umbrella you see today, the ones sold 20 years ago cannot stand on its own. This is why they would normally come with a fitted table which made it very hard for the umbrella to provide shade in the right direction. This rigidness of market umbrella has made outdoor activities rather inconvenient as people are not safely guarded from the dangerous sun rays. Today, not only can the market umbrella stand on its own, it can also rotate and twisted in any directions. With this new improvement, more and more are enjoying the benefits of outdoor activities and at the same time, making their patio, pool deck and gardens look stunning.

If you're looking for something that lasts longer, fade proof and stain resistant, you might as well go for familiar brands. The Sunbrella Umbrella is quite popular for the said requirement. Now you don't have to worry about your bright red umbrella turning pink just after a few years. Today, market umbrellas are so advanced that they are even equipped with lighting. Now you can even have outdoor parties at night. Raining is no longer an excuse not to be enjoying the outdoor. With patio umbrellas, you can enjoy the serenity of the sound of raindrops to your ears and not worry about getting yourself wet or catching pneumonia after that.

There are many other exciting features that we may see in the future such as umbrellas with mosquito net or a foldable one that fits into any back pack. Whatever it is, the future is looking clearer for the market umbrella.

Kenny Leichester is a foremost expert in the interior design industry specializing in the outdoor or patio settings using outdoor patio furniture, patio umbrellas, outdoor cushions, patio heaters, patio lighting and so on to create exquisitely beautiful layout. His articles and work for market umbrellas and so on are widely distributed and is a regular contributor to PatioShoppers.com

Texture, Motion, and a Rihanna Music Video

By Sienna George

Calming is one word a Rihanna music video is not. As a matter of fact, you can't watch one of her music videos and remain indifferent. You just can't. They all have one thing in common: motion - sleek, fluid, throbbing motion.

Just what is it about a Rihanna music video that compels us to get our groove on, too? Is it her voice? Her sinewy body? Her sensuous way of moving to all sorts of beat?

Whatever it is that Rihanna has, it is potent. She has the hipper, younger half of the nation all tickled and eager to stand under her umbrella-ella-ella. The starlet channels a glut of personalities in her music videos. She was chic and sophisticated in Take a Bow as she drove a Porsche around Venice in a red leather jacket, black trousers, and black lacy top. She was every bit the siren as she danced to the disco-ey S.O.S (Rescue Me). In Don't Stop the Music, Rihanna showed us the timelessness of the little black dress as she begged us not to stop the music.

And what of the music video Umbrella? In Umbrella, Rihanna brought the word sultry to life. She oozed sexiness from every pore as she tells us we can stand under her umbrella. Not surprisingly, Umbrella became a runaway success. It not only topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, it held that position for seven weeks! In the UK Singles Chart, it hogged the number one sport for 10 consecutive weeks, making it the longest-running chart-topper in a decade!

Not one to rest on her laurels, the star has another music video coming out, Disturbia. Made under the direction of David LaChapelle, this music video has been raking a lot of hype. Insiders say it continues the direction Gone Girl Gone Bad has taken and presents an edgier, more complex Rihanna.

Hot New Hair Trends For 2008! - Rihanna

By Michelle Schill

Today's hairstyles are vibrant and exciting! Thinking back on how limited we've been in past decades (with one style representing what was en vogue), it's evident that we've expanded our hair-fashion horizons.

Haircolor has emerged as an artform and new cutting techniques and tools have exploded the creativity of stylists. We now draw from all of the past decades for inspiration and then bring it up a notch with modern methods.

With so many incarnations of hair history to select from, we cycle through them like children playing dress-up with the contents of an old trunk in the attic.

The result? New hair trends.

Let's look at a bit of what we'll be seeing in 2008...

Hair Styles/Styling

Vintage 20's and 40's inspired styling is hot for 2008. Pared down glamor. Sophisticated, elegant waves... A polished look with a low key "regal" quality.

Strong, blunt fringes or soft sweeping bangs (heavier than in the past) make a modern statement this year. And blunt fringes of shorter lengths play into the vintage feel that is popular now. If your hairstyle needs a boost, but you're not sure which direction to take it, try adding a fringe (either long or short). This one simple change can dramatically alter the feel of a hair cut.

Texture is all over the map. Stick-straight locks with the addition of a lash-skimming, blunt fringe transforms straight hair into a high-fashion showpiece.

Peaks and swirls add interest to cropped hairstyles. The faux-hawk is a good example of "peaks." To freshen up the look, bring the peak over to the side more, in keeping with the "at the side" trend for 2008.

A swirling motion creates incredible texture, while making a strong individual statement. The swirls can also showcase haircolor in a way that no other styling technique can.

Curly Hairstyles

Curls are still in the limelight and the looks can range from smooth, deep dips and curves, to free flowing waves. Ramp up the texture of straight/wavy hair with a casual bend here and there (accomplished by wrapping random sections of hair loosely around the outside of a curling iron).

Bob Hairstyle

The resurgence of the bob continues in 2008. What's the appeal? Ease and versatility. This seemingly basic style can take on so many personalities! The simplicity and classic elegance of Katie Holmes' bob gives her an air of maturity. In contrast, Rihanna's whispy, asymmetric version is fresh and funky, proving that a bob hairstyle can be fun and fabulous!

Bobs are un-fussy, easy to style and bring out a woman's classic beauty... lengthening the neck and framing the face to highlight the eyes.

But be careful. Bobs can also have a plain, little-girlish feel. Make sure your stylist is versed in layering and texture cutting. Bobs appear simple, and they're easy to style, but cutting a striking, fashionable bob hairstyle that "falls into place" requires precision craftsmanship.

For the Guys

Mens hair is more creative now than ever. Faux-hawks, emo styles, mod, surfer-casual, etc... Perhaps the options are a bit much for some men though. Several major celebs have recently chopped (Matthew McConaughey) or even shaved (Matthew Fox) their hair, many others are returning to the classic mens crop.

Movement is key for guys styling, whether it's lively spikes or smooth, sweeping mod-inspired motion. Products like wax and putty help to achieve these styles without the crunch factor (and possible flaking) that gel can cause.

On the Formal Side

There's a move toward demure low chignons, secured at the nape with height in the crown/back. Bangs can be swept across the forehead or pulled back from the face in a sultry wave.

Side-styling is growing in popularity too... hair swept off to one side, ending in a collection of curls or waves or a loose, messy bun secured below the ear.

The silhouette of updos (and hairstyles in general) is wider, with more volume in the back and at the sides, while maintaining just a bit of height in the crown.

Hair Color

Deeper shades are hot for spring... golden blondes, mocha browns, and wine-inspired reds (both warm and cool tones).

Dimensional color, with multiple tones applied in varying widths, is hot again this year. The contrast between tones is played down compared to recent versions though.

Create more drama by adding contrasting highlights or lowlights underneath or through random interior sections. This application results in a "convertible" color which can be played up or toned down depending on how you style your hair on any given day.

Fashion Trends 2007 - What to Keep or Ditch in 2008

By Lynda Goldman

Fashion trends in 2007 had their day. Here are some of the best and worst of the top trends. Hold on to the best fashions as we head into 2008. Ditch the worst ones. They aren't flattering to anyone.

Best fashion trends in 2007

• High-waisted skirts: This classic trend gives every women a great shape.

• Trouser pants: A welcome relief from the oh-so-tight low-cut jeans, trouser pants are classic business wear that look great in the board room with a smart looking jacket. They are equally lovely in the evening, topped with a twin set or sweater in a current color.

• Skinny pants: still great for weekends and evenings. The modified version of slim pants is great for the office, paired with a great sweater or swingy jacket.

• Soft tailoring: Pairing more structured, tailored pieces with items that are much softer and flowy, the combination works well for most women. Anyone can adapt it to their style. Instead of sticking to one style, this flexible approach brought a new kind of modern femininity - hard and soft at the same time.

• Ray-Ban sunglasses: All the stars sported them, and these classic frames made everyone look like a rock star.

• The Bob: From Katie Holmes to Rihanna and Posh, this move from long flowy locks to a structured style is the hottest trend at the moment. And a little structure can be a great update for most women.

• Cobalt blue: A beautiful color that works will in the office and after hours.

Worst fashion trends in 2007

• High waisted pants: unlike high-waisted skirts, these pants are uncomfortable to wear, and look unattractive even on stars like Mischa Barton.

• Cropped winter jackets: Great fashion if you live in Florida or California. For anyone else, the short sleeves are sure to leave you with chapped elbows.

• Baby doll dresses: Cute for 12 year olds. Not so sweet on anyone older.

• Empire waist dresses: A nice silhouette for tall, slim women. For others, it provokes the question: Is she pregnant?

• Tent dresses: Interesting on models. On most real people, these just look like tents.

• Too much glitz: A little glitter and a touch of metallics are great. But mix them together with beaded, sequined and glimmery materials, and it's overkill.

Trendy Celebrity Inspired Handbags

By Catherine Olivia

Today every girl also wants to carry the handbag that her favorite celebrity carries. Celebrity inspired trendy handbags are all the rage today. It's easy to understand why. When we see celebrities like Jessica Simpson, Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Demi Moore, Hiliary Duff, Lindsay Lohan and Reese Witherspoon carrying handbags we want to carry the same handbag too!

Well, good luck! What you're going to find is that the quilted Chanel handbag being carried by Rihanna probably costs $2,000 to $2,500. I don't know many people who can afford that. You may also find that Halle Berry's Jimmy Choo Mahala bag will set you back a whopping $2,225. I'll bet you can't afford that either.

What you can afford however are celebrity inspired handbags. These inspired handbags are not meant to be exact replica handbags. These trendy celebrity inspired handbags are designed taking the most recognizable design element of the original bag and re-working it into a handbag for the masses.

Have you ever seen the price of a Hermes Birkin handbag? A real one may cost you $10,000 or more. I've seen Hermes Birkin handbags with an asking price of $55,000. Ridiculous.

Carefully crafted and quality made these handbags are fashionable and echo the very latest handbag trends. You'll find a wide array of different types of celebrity inspired handbag. You'll find travel bags, clutches and evening bags, hobo purses, quilted handbags, shoulder bags and many more.

You'll also be thrilled with the prices. As mentioned above, authentic designer handbags sell for thousands of dollars. Designer inspired handbags are affordable for every woman. With some styles in the $50 - $70 range a lot of women end of finding a handbag style they like and they purchase it in several different colors.

Interested in the latest Prada Spring handbag? It's going to set you back $2,500. You can find a designer inspired handbag for $52. A Fendi handbag will set you back $900 to $2,100 or more. A designer inspired handbag that echoes the Prada style will cost you around $70.

The funny thing is that celebrity inspired and designer inspired trendy handbags are gaining in popularity. With the price of authentic designer handbags skyrocketing and with the pervasive problem of fake designer handbags a lot of women don't want to risk spending thousands of dollars for a fake. A lot of women today purposely buy fake designer handbags or save even more money and get even more style buying designer inspired handbags.
